You need the Internet to be able to download system updates, apps, games, and to register the device. Once the device is updated and registered though, there are many features that will work without an Internet connection. The camera, voice changer, e-Books, and 40+ learning games are all available without the Internet. You can also load MP3 music files or MP4 videos onto the device or download additional content from Learning Lodge or the Amazon App Store that can be used without an Internet connection after it’s downloaded.
There are some device features that will not work without Internet access. The KidiConnect messaging feature, the web browser, and Learning Lodge all require an Internet connection.
